On June 1, 2022, the Education Development Sub center of the College organized a training meeting for young teachers' education and teaching ability in combination with the work arrangement of the teaching quality month. Professor Chen Lihua was specially invited to share his experience in education and teaching. New teachers and young teachers under the age of 40 of the College in the past three years participated in the meeting, which was chaired by Vice President Wang Xiaojun.
Professor Chen Lihua, with the report theme of "Building Virtue, Cultivating People and Creating a Culture of Excellence in Quality", carried out training for young teachers in the college from aspects of school supervision, typical teaching cases, ideological and political integration of courses, and responsibility of young teachers.
At the meeting, Professor Chen emphasized the common vision and value pursuit of the new round of review and evaluation, which is "one fundamental, two prominent, three strengthened and five degrees". At the same time, combining the early teaching supervision, mid-term inspection of graduation design and postgraduate defense, he proposed that young teachers should give full play to the advantages of good plasticity and strong learning ability to actively participate in education and teaching.
Professor Chen demonstrated the participation method and scoring system of school supervision for young teachers with vivid cases, and combined with visual video data, let the participating teachers experience the friendly and fair evaluation method of supervision. Professor Chen also constantly encourages young teachers to actively use and promote excellent teaching methods and platform technologies.
In addition, Professor Chen explained the basic norms of undergraduate classes, and proposed that we should pay attention to value guidance, transfer positive energy, make good preparation for teaching, do well in teaching content, do well in classroom order and other requirements, and focus on the ideological and political teaching characteristics of goal oriented, problem oriented, and effect oriented. Young teachers are required to learn teaching skills, constantly improve their teaching ability, strengthen the study of education and teaching theory, and constantly improve their theoretical level and engineering practice ability. Inspired by Professor Chen, the participating teachers reviewed the motto and value orientation of the University of Engineering.
