On April 21, the Party Branch of the Department of Electrical Engineering of the college and the Party Branch of Marxist Principles Teachers of the School of Marxism jointly held a party day event with the theme of "Exerting the Educational Function of the Branch and Cultivating Comprehensive Electrical Talents" in the 7850 conference room of the Modern Transportation Engineering Center of the Songjiang Campus. Teacher Peng Xingwei, the host of the "National Quality Online Open Course", attended. This Party Day activity is based on the study and implementation of the theme education of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, with the purpose of improving the level of subject competition and promoting the ideological and political construction of electrical professional courses, and is conducted in the form of experience exchange and discussion.

The activity was divided into three parts: in the first part, Yan Shujia, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Department of Electrical Engineering, gave a brief introduction to the development history, branch situation and teaching staff of the Department of Electrical Engineering; in the second part, Yan Shujia, Wu Peng and Zhang Jingsan of the Department of Electrical Engineering Two teachers respectively shared their experience in organizing students to participate in high-level competitions and cases of integrating ideological and political education into core professional courses of electrical disciplines on China International "Internet +" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, modern power electronics and power plant electrical engineering; in the third part, both parties Party members conducted lively exchanges and discussions on how to integrate ideological and political elements into majors and courses. Teacher Peng Xingwei put forward the suggestion of "cultivating scientific spirit."

The activity proposed that in the process of thematic education, we should continue to draw wisdom and experience from Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and strive to transform learning results into a powerful force to guide practical work such as competitions, teaching, and scientific research. We should “give full play to branch education” "Human functions and cultivating comprehensive electrical talents" should be implemented as a long-term work to ensure that the effectiveness of thematic education is reflected in the important work of "three-round education".
